I was recently commissioned to shoot a campaign for a international business at their office in London.
My client was looking for authentic imagery of staff working in and around the office, along with a number of corporate portraits. Keeping in line with this, all the subjects were real employees, and no models were used.
An initial recce with my client was important in deciding on the best locations for the shoot. Fortunately it’s a large, contemporary office, so there were plenty of options to choose from. All the subjects had a limited amount of time on the day, so knowing when and where we would be photographing them helped make the most of our time at each spot.
The lighting was kept fairly simple with just two lights used for most scenes, and I also made use of the available light where I could. This made it reasonably easy for me and my assistant to move from one location to the next. All the images were shot on my Sony A7R V camera, with a selection of my favourite Sigma Art prime lenses.
For the candid-style images, we were after a upbeat, friendly and natural lifestyle look. Composition allowing plenty of space around the subjects was required to allow for a variety of crops.
Here’s a selection of photos from the shoot.
And here’s how some of the photos were used in the campaign.
And one of the photos was used for the website careers page.
