2026: my start to the year.

Hello 2026! It’s been a productive start to the year with a variety of shoots in January.

After a nice break over Christmas I started the year off with a corporate headshots shoot for a regular client near Victoria in London. For these shoots I bring along a portable backdrop and lighting and set up a studio area in their boardroom. The finished photos are lightly retouched and supplied in colour and black and white. Following this I had a fun photography and video shoot for a magazine launch at the newly refurbished Blundell Studios near Kings Cross. The studio has a white infinity cove (a curved seamless background) making it a great option for clean backgrounds. There are also other areas which we were able to use for photography and the video interviews I shot at the end.

At the end of the month I spent a couple of days in Dublin for a commercial and corporate shoot for a construction consultant. The first day was spent on a building site (a new bank) photographing staff in action. We were lucky with the weather and managed to shoot outdoors on the roof and even had some blue sky! The next day I was shooting employee headshots, leadership portraits and branding images. It was a lively couple of days, and great to be back in Dublin. I’m currently working on the final photos, and will post some of these in due course.

I shot my first event of 2026 early February, and have been busy shooting corporate portraits for the last couple of weeks.

I also picked up a new Sony lens (the Sony 16-35mm GM f/2.8 if you’re interested), which is incredibly sharp and has already seen a lot of use. It’s great for event work, dramatic wide angle portraits and video interviews. The 2026 Photography Show is next month, so I’ll be popping up to Birmingham and checking out the latest gear, and maybe picking up a new lens or camera. We’ll see!
