It’s been a busy start to the year and I’ve had a lot of requests for candid company photography.
Clients have been looking for not so corporate photographs to match their brand, showing their staff and the office in a natural and creative way.
Often this will involve reportage imagery of people in the workplace using real staff, the antithesis of stock photography. This could be someone at their desk or a group in a meeting for example. Here are some photos from recent commissions.
Sometimes the photo will be directed in order to achieve a clean, well-lit, natural looking portrait as above. The aim is still to achieve a candid look.
I like to shoot with prime lenses which allows me to blur the background nicely and isolate people, making the photos pop. I currently use Canon 5D Mark IV camera bodies with the excellent Sigma Art prime lenses.
These images are often shot to compliment staff headshots or portraits and are often used for websites, company brochures and annual reports. Candid looking portraits can also be a popular alternative to a more formal headshot.
